It was all smiles among the Carlton faithful as the Blues beat Fremantle 68-72 on Sunday afternoon in what was a gritty hard fought first win for both our boy Andrew Phillips and the Carlton Football Club. The win has seen the Blues jump up the ladder from bottom placed 18th position to 15th position.
Andrew amassed a massive 19 hit outs to go with his 5 disposals and 2 tackles to earn his first Carlton Gatorade shower.
The Blues will be feeling elated coming into this week’s match against arch rivals Essendon knowing the momentum is with them and will look to keep the wheels turning as they go for back to back wins in round 6.
In other news we’d like to congratulate another Blue Rock talent in Tim Jones for a strong debut game for the Northern Blues this past weekend against Port Melbourne. A 24 disposal game has set him in good stead for another call up to the senior team this week.
