Andrew Phillips was drafted as a Rookie player to the GWS Giants with pick 4 in the rookie draft of 2010 during their inaugural season in the AFL. During his time with the GWS Giants he was used mainly as a back up ruck man to Shane Mumford where he managed 14 games and 5 goals in 5 seasons in Sydney’s West.
Andrew debuted in round 7 of 2012 against the Gold Coast FC at Manuka Oval in which his GWS team picked up their first ever win in the AFL.
Since then Andrew has been traded to Carlton Football Club where he should see more opportunity as the main man in the ruck as he shares duties with Matthew Kruezer throughout the year.
In his first hit out with the Blues Andrew managed 14 disposals, 14 hit outs, 5 tackles and a goal to his name
